Silver Beaver Nominations Now Being Accepted
The Silver Beaver award is made annually by the Connecticut Rivers Council to recognize volunteer Scouters with a record of distinguished service to youth of our Council. Selection is made by the Council Silver Beaver Committee from among those nominated throughout the Council and will be presented at the Council Annual Meeting and Recognition Luncheon on May 7, 2017.
The Silver Beaver is the highest award a Council can bestow on its volunteers. Nominees must be at least 21 years old and must be a currently registered volunteer Scouter in the Council. Nominees should have a demonstrated record of exceptional service to scouting, preferably at more than one level (unit/district/council/national). In addition, nominees should have a demonstrated record of noteworthy service to the community and to youth outside of scouting.
Nominations are strictly confidential and should not be discussed at any time with the nominee. Nominations may be submitted by any volunteer currently registered with the Council. All nominations must be submitted using the National Silver Beaver Award Form. You can find the form by clicking here.
Due to space constraints on the National form, it has been decided to allow the use of ONE additional page of information to accompany the Silver Beaver form. This page should only be used for additional information that does not fit on the form. No letters of recommendation will be accepted. See the rules and regulations for additional information.
Nominations must be received by the Council office not later than 5pm, Friday, February 17, 2017. Completed nomination forms may be emailed to Jake Gotimer at Jacob.Gotimer@scouting.org, dropped off at the East Hartford Service Center, or hand delivered to your District Commissioner.
