Boy Scout Leader Specific Training

The Boy Scout Leader Specific Training course will provide Scoutmasters with the basic information and tools they need to lead successful Boy Scout troops. Scoutmasters and assistant Scoutmasters who complete this course, Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, and Youth Protection Training are considered "trained" for those positions.

Connecticut Science Center Sleepovers

Ever wonder what it would be like to experience science after dark? Grab your sleeping bags and flashlights and get ready to find out! The Connecticut Science Center invites you to participate in our Overnight Excursions. Now you can experience hands-on interactive science activities at night! Use your imagination and creativity to engage in our super cool science challenges.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with SM Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Troops in order to be considered "trained".

District Recognition Dinner

This gathering of Scouters and friends is an important aspect of the Scouting Year as we recognize in a grand way the work of volunteer leaders throughout the Northwest Hills District. We hope that volunteers from units and on the district level make an effort to attend and show appreciation to those that make Scouting wonderful. All are welcome!
