Silver Beaver Award Nominations Open

The Silver Beaver award is made annually by the Connecticut Rivers Council to recognize volunteer scouters with a record of distinguished service to youth of our Council.  Selection is made by the Council Silver Beaver Committee from among those nominated throughout the Council, and is subject to approval by the National Council.

The Silver Beaver is a Council level award.  It is the highest award a Council can bestow on its volunteers.  Nominees must be at least 21 years old and must be a currently registered volunteer scouter in the Council.  Nominees should have a demonstrated record of exceptional service to scouting, preferably at more than one level (unit/district/council/national).  In addition, nominees should have a demonstrated record of noteworthy service to the community and to youth outside of scouting.

Nominations are strictly confidential and may not be discussed at any time with the nominee.  Nominations may be submitted by any volunteer currently registered with the Council.  All nominations must be submitted on the 2012 Silver Beaver Nomination Form.  Forms are available from the Council office, from district Silver Beaver committees, and from the Council website,   

Nominations must be received by the Council office not later than midnight, Monday, April 30, 2012.  Nomination forms may be hand delivered or mailed to the Council office.  Forms may also be submitted by fax (860-289-6447) or emailed to:  astrong@bsamail.org
