Beginning in 2013 the Connecticut Rivers Council will require a copy of the front page of a family’s most recent Form 1040 in addition to the campership application. This practice is consistent with other major institutions providing camperships, allows the council to make an informed, needs-based decision, and improve our ability to support those Scouts who truly need assistance.
To protect the family’s privacy the Form 1040 will:
- Be mailed directly to the Scout Service Center – the Unit Leader will not be provided a copy
- Social Security Numbers will be blacked out by the requesting family
- The form will be shredded after review and not retained by the council.
As this is a significant change we wanted to inform you so that you could share this information as you deem appropriate.
