Mark Twain District

The Mark Twain District of the Connecticut Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout oath and law.  The Mark Twain District delivers Scouting programs to nearly 4000 youth and over 1000 adults including 1100 disadvantaged urban youth in 116 units in Hartford, Avon, Bristol and eight other southeastern Connecticut towns.

The Brand New Mark Twain Program Launch

The Mark Twain Program Launch, June 5th at Churchill Park in Newington, has been redesigned with our units in mind. We are keeping the great steak dinner and camaraderie but we are adding a midway beginning at 5:30 to highlight the events and activities provided by the District.

Cub Scout Outdoor Trainings Available

Attention Cub Scout Leaders: The Mark Twain District will be offering Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) training and Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders May 26 – May 27 at Camp Mattatuck in Plymouth! BALOO (8:00 AM Saturday to 5:00 PM Saturday) or OLSWL (8:00 AM Saturday through to Sunday)

Fees Go Up after May 15th.

This notice is a reminder to register for summer camp before May 15th when the fees go up.
