Spending the day at the Connecticut Science Center? Now imagine sleeping here when the lights go out!

Enjoy a rare opportunity to stay at the Science Center at night. Explore the exhibits, discover special programs and set up camp in front of your favorite exhibit during this exclusive after-hours experience. Don’t miss this memorable overnight adventure!

  • Saturday, November 19, 2016 : Super Powers – Unlock your super powers as we explore the science behind super hero gadgets. Also, make your very own bat signal!
  • Saturday, December 10, 2016: Secret Agent Science – Learn stealth tactics, uncover tricks and guide your way through our top secret laser maze all before bedtime.
  • Friday, March 24, 2017: Wilderness Explorer - Observe the night sky in our dome room and discover some rare and carnivorous plants as we explore the great outdoors!
  • Saturday, April 22, 2017: EGGstraveganza – Will your egg survive the 100ft. drop?? Use your EGGcellent creativity to design and test your own egg contraption.



  • Exploration of our 10 exhibit galleries with more than 165 hands-on activities.
  • Exciting science challenges and activities on every floor.
  • Time with some of our live animals, including exotic reptiles and insects.
  • A 3D film in our state-of-the-art Maximilian E. and Marion O. Hoffman Foundation Science Theater.
  • Free General Admission to the Science Center the next day.
  • A late night snack and light breakfast in the morning.
  • Overnight patch



  • Overnights are open to families and groups with children ages 5-12 years old.
  • A chaperone/parent-to-child ratio of at least 1:5 is required.
  • Parking is available at the Science Center/Riverfront Street Garage (Grove Street) at a reduced rate of $18
  • Staff will be available to assist you throughout the evening



  • Arrive between 6:00 – 6:45pm, participants will need to bring their Overnight Talent Release Form
  • Parking is available at the Science Center/Riverfront Street Garage (Grove Street) at a reduced rate of $18
  • Subway sandwiches will be provided upon arrival
  • Wristbands will be provided to everyone staying overnight and will also be your ticket for next day admission to the Science Center
  • Each adult will receive a map of our exhibits, a schedule of events, and other information for a safe Overnight
  • All outside entry doors to the Science Center will lock at 7:30pm, If you arrive after 7:30 p.m., you will need to call security (860) 520-2155



  • Your group will be assigned a specific exhibit and floor to sleep in. Males and females sleep on separate floors during overnights.
  • All participants are required to remain in their assigned spaces after lights out.
  • After lights-out all overnighters must remain silent and in their assigned areas
  • Air mattresses are permitted but we cannot guarantee adequate space. If there is not enough space, Connecticut Science Center staff will ask you to deflate your air mattress.



  • Overnight ends at 8:00am, pack and store your belonging by 8:00am so the exhibits can be cleaned
  • Breakfast sandwiches will be served between 7:00am-8:00am
  • The gift shop will be open the following morning of your Overnight at 8:00am
  • Feel free to stay longer and enjoy  the Science Center!
